It was built on the site of a 500 year old cottage that was demolished despite local opposition
It had a large public car park, and a cafe, on the first floor, also open to the public
Run by the Shipman & King circuit
Opened 1935, and Seated 1960
Architect Ward and Woolnough
Had a Christie 3c/6 rank organ
This was sold in 1973 to an organ enthusiast in Norfolk
Closed sometime in the 1980s
The site is now offices and The Screen cinema
