The Hippodrome Cinema Reigate, Surrey, UK
Cinema Programme October 1948
You will notice that all programmes start on a Monday
At this time Sunday opening was not allowed
Also there were only two censor certificates
These were 'U' and 'A'
A 'U' film was the same as it is today, that is Universal, able to be seen by any age
An 'A' certificate (Adult) meant that you had to be 16 years old, or over, to see the film
If you were under 16 then you could see the film but only if accompanied by a person over the age of 16 years
