The fire regulations insisted that all the wood used anywhere in the building had to be
Oak for it's slow burning propereties
This included all doors, and the stairs to the projection room
All doors had to be able to hold back a fire for at least 30 minutes
The modern fire regulations still stipulate the 30 mins for a modern door, but I have my doubts about this
